It's Frank Zappa's bithday today: 67 years. Unfortunately he died of cancer in 1993. This is the first song I ever heard of Frank Zappa. Zappa was a multitalented musical genius, who composed, produced, performed and marketed his music. He has a huge discography and is an infleunce to a lot of young artists. There is a huge community that keeps Frank Zappa's spirit alive.

A wonderful song by French-Italian topmodel and singer songwriter Carla Bruni. She has a kind of grained voice that makes her sound funique. She released two CD's: "Quelqu'un m' a dit" and "Lost promises". Next to the catwalk, she became famous for having affairs with stars like Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Donald Trump, Kevin Costner and Vincent Pérez.
A few days ago, she was photographed alongside Mr. Sarkozy, the French president, during a visit in Disneyland Paris.

Waldeck is the alias of Klaus Waldeck, a producer from Vienna's Spray Records. Vienna's Spray Records houses Kruder & Dorfmeister and Count Basic. Balance of the force was his first full album, released in 1999. The song Defenceless is the best known song of Waldeck. Although he doesn't release that much albums, his tracks are featured on several lounge and downtempo compilations.
Make My Day is his latest release.

Winter Jam was the remake of Underdog Project's previously released Summer Jam. Summer Jam is a remixed version of the original Fiesta from The Sunclub. They recycled the original song to a cosy unplugged-alike version. Underdog Project is a German Dance Formation formed by Krishna (vocals), Craig Smart (vocals), AJ Duncan (keyboard) and DJ F.R.A.N.K (dj). Both Winter Jam and Summer Jam were hits in 2004.

One of the biggest dance anthems of the latest years, released by Delerium. Delerium is a band, started as a side project for Front Line Assembly. However they are quite influential, some people blame them for being Front 242 imitators. Delerium is a Vancouver based music band, bringing different styles of music, from ambient to pop.
Silence remixed by several mixmasters. The remix of Silence by DJ Tiesto is probably the best known. The Airscape remix won the 2002 Dance Dance Revolution Extreme2 award. My personal favourite is Fade's sanctuary remix. Sarah almost never performs this live, but did in once in Amsterdam.
The vocals are performed by Sarah McLachlan, a Canadian singer/songwriter with an angelic voice.

Today, Ike Turner died. Ike Turner discovered Tina Turner and married her. Tina left her husband Ike in 1976, as a result of being hitted by him. Ike admits to have punched Tina, but never beated. The movie What's Love Got To Do With It, tells the story of their lives.
Since the divorce, she became a world star and Ike got on drugs. He still toured, but never as succesful as his former wife Tina.
Ike Turner was married 14 times in his life.
Ike will be remebered certainly for his background vocals on 'Proud Mary', a Creedence Clearwater Revival cover. Apart from that particular song, the first rock and roll song ever is credited to Ike Turner. Her recorded the song Rocket 88, sang by Jackie Delton and his Delta Cats. Rocket 88 is a song about an Oldsmobile, with a V8 motor.
